The Health and Medical Education Authority at the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, under the direct supervision of the Health Operations and Disaster Management Center, has established a fully equipped medical camp in Basra Province to provide healthcare and treatment services to the pilgrims of Imam Hussain (PBUH) as part of its plan to serve those traveling to the holy city of Karbala.
In a statement obtained by the official website, the center said that "the Health and Medical Education Authority at the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, under the direct supervision of the Health Operations and Disaster Management Center, has established a fully equipped medical camp in Basra Province to provide healthcare and treatment services to the pilgrims of Imam Hussain (PBUH), as part of its plan to serve pilgrims traveling to the holy city of Karbala."
The statement explained that "this emergency medical camp has been established under the patronage and direct support of the Representative of the Supreme Religious Authority, Sheikh Abdul Mahdi Al-Karbalaei, with the aim of creating a safe healthcare environment and providing the highest level of free medical care for those arriving to participate in the Arbaeen pilgrimage."
It added that "the location of the medical camp was selected and equipped following a comprehensive field study to ensure rapid medical response and effective handling of emergency cases. The camp has been supplied with all necessary medicines and medical equipment, while specialized medical and nursing teams have been prepared to operate around the clock without interruption."
The establishment of the medical camp is part of the Health and Medical Education Authority's preparations to serve the pilgrims of Imam Hussain (PBUH) traveling to the holy city of Karbala, particularly during mass pilgrimage occasions. The authority continues to provide healthcare and treatment services to pilgrims across various provinces and along the routes leading to Karbala through the deployment of medical units and camps operating 24 hours a day.
