Iraq's Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has officially recognized the Imam Hussein International Conference, organized by the Dar Al-Quran Department of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, while confirming its international status and scientific sequence, in a step that reflects the conference's academic standing in the fields of research and scholarship.

Speaking to the official website, the head of the Quranic Media Division, Mr. Wissam Natheer, said that "the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research approved the seventh edition of the Imam Hussein International Conference, organized by the Dar Al-Quran Department of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, while confirming its international status and scientific sequence, reflecting the academic reputation the conference has achieved through previous editions."

He explained that "the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research issued an official letter approving the conference, confirming its name as the 'Imam Hussein International Conference,' maintaining its scientific sequence, and approving the updating of the conference themes for each edition, thereby recognizing previous conferences and reinforcing their academic standing."

He added that "the registration process took more than (4) months of continuous follow-up and completion of all scientific and administrative requirements stipulated under the ministry's new scientific conference registration form, with the department successfully meeting all of the ministry's conditions."

He noted that "the conference retained its international status after fulfilling the ministry's requirements, most notably the adoption of the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform, in addition to documenting the participation of international researchers, making it the first conference among the holy shrines to obtain official registration with the ministry under the new regulations."

He continued that "this accreditation represents an important step in the Dar Al-Quran Department's efforts to strengthen scientific research. Official recognition of the conference ensures that participating research papers will be counted toward academic promotion requirements, while also enhancing the department's academic standing as a scholarly institution committed to documenting its activities in accordance with the highest recognized standards."

He pointed out that "the scientific and administrative committees have begun preparations for the seventh edition of the conference by distributing responsibilities and developing implementation plans to ensure it is organized in a manner consistent with its academic standing and the mission of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine in serving the Holy Quran and scientific research."

The Imam Hussein International Conference is regarded as one of the leading specialized academic conferences organized by the Dar Al-Quran Department of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine. It attracts distinguished researchers and academics from inside and outside Iraq with the aim of advancing Quranic studies and promoting scientific research in accordance with established academic standards.
