Warith Al-Anbiyaa University, affiliated with the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, has achieved a new international academic milestone after securing a distinguished position in the THE Impact Rankings 2026, issued by the UK's Times Higher Education.
Speaking to the official website, the university's Assistant President for Scientific Affairs, Professor Waqid Al-Mousawi, said that "Warith Al-Anbiyaa University, affiliated with the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, has achieved a new international academic milestone after earning a distinguished position in the THE Impact Rankings 2026, issued by the UK's Times Higher Education."
He explained that "the university was placed within the (401-600) global category among (1,603) participating universities worldwide, while ranking second among Iraq's private universities, reflecting its commitment to implementing the principles of sustainable development and strengthening its role in education, scientific research, and community service in accordance with international standards."
He added that "the university achieved notable results across several Sustainable Development Goals, ranking (53) globally for 'Affordable and Clean Energy,' (101-200) globally for 'Clean Water and Sanitation,' and within the (201-300) global category for 'Partnerships for the Goals.'"
He emphasized that "the THE Impact Rankings are based on a set of international indicators that measure universities' contributions to achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals by evaluating the quality of education, research excellence, innovation, international partnerships, social responsibility, and institutional and environmental policies."
The achievement is the result of the direct support and patronage of the representative of the Supreme Religious Authority, Sheikh Abdul Mahdi Al-Karbalaei, the Secretary-General of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, Mr. Hassan Rashid Jawad Al-Abayji, the university presidency, and the collective efforts of all colleges, centers, and departments to enhance academic and institutional performance and strengthen a culture of sustainability across all areas of university operations, further reinforcing Warith Al-Anbiyaa University as a leading educational institution at both the national and international levels.
