Imam Hussain Holy Shrine Supplies 120 Tons of Ice for Ashura Visitors

The Maintenance Department of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine has announced the provision of ice for Husayni mourning processions and visitors through designated distribution points in Karbala, coinciding with the tenth of Muharram pilgrimage.

Speaking to the official website, the head of the department, Engineer Abdul Hassan Mohammed, said that "the Maintenance Department of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine has implemented a special plan to provide ice for Husayni mourning processions and visitors through designated outlets in the city center."

He explained that "the plan includes mobilizing operations at the facility located on Al-Shuhada Street near the Holy Husayni Shrine, which houses two ice production plants. The first plant has a production capacity of (70) tons over (24) hours, while the second produces (50) tons during the same period, bringing the combined daily output of both plants to (120) tons to meet growing demand and cover the needs of visitors."

He added that "a special mechanism has been established to supply ice to Husayni mourning processions across Karbala Governorate, in addition to serving visitors."

He pointed out that "the ice is produced using state-of-the-art facilities from reputable international manufacturers," noting that "all ice produced undergoes daily laboratory testing to ensure its suitability."

The Imam Hussain Holy Shrine has mobilized all of its departments, personnel, affiliated institutions, and centers, in accordance with the directives of the representative of the Supreme Religious Authority and legal custodian of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, Sheikh Abdul Mahdi Al-Karbalaei, to provide the best possible services to visitors.
