The Health and Medical Education Authority of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine has announced that Al-Thaqalain Oncology Hospital in Basra is recording daily patient rates of (178) cancer patients from various Iraqi provinces, benefiting from the free medical and treatment services provided by the hospital.
Speaking to the official website, the head of the authority, Dr. Haider Hamza Al-Abadi, said that "Al-Thaqalain Hospital in Basra, affiliated with the Warith International Foundation for Cancer Treatment under the Health and Medical Education Authority of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, has recorded daily patient rates of (178) cancer patients arriving from various Iraqi provinces to benefit from the free medical and treatment services provided by Al-Thaqalain Hospital in Basra."
He explained that "the hospital is operating at full capacity and utilizing its modern facilities to provide the highest level of medical and therapeutic care for patients. Its specialized clinics and various departments have received high numbers of patients and provided them with comprehensive specialized care that reduces the need to travel abroad for treatment."
He added that "the hospital's services are not limited to the residents of Basra alone. It has become a major treatment destination for patients from most Iraqi provinces due to its advanced treatment systems and state-of-the-art radiotherapy and diagnostic equipment, which are among the most modern in the region and are operated under the supervision of highly specialized medical and healthcare professionals."
He continued that "recent days have witnessed a noticeable increase in the number of beneficiaries," stressing that "the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine remains committed to providing full support and supplying medicines and medical necessities free of charge, in line with the directives of the representative of the Supreme Religious Authority to care for patients and provide treatment and healthcare according to the highest standards."
