The Lady Zainab Specialized Surgical Center for Ophthalmology announced the scale of medical services it provided during the first quarter of 2026.
In a statement obtained by the official website, the center said that “under the patronage of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine and in cooperation with the Karbala Health Directorate, the Lady Zainab Specialized Eye Center affiliated with the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine received (15,985) medical consultations during the first quarter of 2026.”
The statement explained that “the center achieved a record number reflecting the scale of medical response and healthcare services provided to citizens, as the number of surgical procedures exceeded (6,762), in addition to conducting (24,891) precise eye examinations, while continuing efforts to provide free and subsidized specialized care.”
It added that “the humanitarian role of the center was clearly demonstrated through the provision of (4,439) free injections to patients,” stressing that “these figures are not merely statistics, but a true reflection of the daily workload and the major efforts made by the medical staff and their continuous commitment to easing the burden on citizens.”
The Lady Zainab Specialized Eye Center is considered one of the leading medical institutions supported by the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine in cooperation with the Karbala Health Directorate. Through equipping the center with the latest international technologies, efforts are being made to provide advanced specialized treatment within Iraq and reduce the need for patients to travel abroad for medical care, ensuring the delivery of the highest standards of healthcare services to citizens.
