In a precise medical achievement reflecting the level of expertise and coordination in surgical care, the medical team at Safir Imam Hussein Hospital successfully performed a complex surgical procedure on a (10)-year-old child who was suffering from a benign tumor in the right lobe of the liver. The operation was carried out with support from the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine.
The hospital’s administrative director, engineer Abbas Abdul Ali, said in remarks to the (official website) that “the medical team at Safir Imam Hussein Surgical Hospital successfully conducted a complex surgical operation for a (10)-year-old child who was suffering from a benign tumor in the right lobe of the liver.”
He explained that “the child arrived at the hospital suffering from a benign tumor in the right lobe of the liver and underwent a series of precise medical examinations and specialized assessments conducted by the medical team.”
He added that “the case was presented to the hospital’s tumor committee, and after reviewing the medical reports and radiological images, the appropriate treatment plan was approved. The plan included performing surgery to remove the right lobe of the liver in order to protect the child’s health and prevent the condition from progressing.”
He noted that “the procedure was carried out by specialist physician Dr. Moayyad Al-Naqib, a consultant in gastrointestinal and liver surgery, with the participation of a fully integrated medical team of doctors, anesthesia staff, and nursing personnel. The right portion of the liver was successfully removed under careful monitoring and advanced medical procedures.”
He confirmed that “the surgery was successful, and the child is currently in stable health and undergoing the necessary medical follow-up inside the hospital.”
The administration of Safir Imam Hussein Surgical Hospital emphasized that such specialized procedures demonstrate the institution’s advanced medical expertise and treatment capabilities in dealing with complex surgical cases.
