Under the guidance of the General Secretariat of the Imam Ali Holy Shrine, the servants of the Commander of the Faithful (peace be upon him) have begun implementing an integrated service plan to provide hospitality to pilgrims traveling to the holy city of Karbala to commemorate the birth anniversary of Imam al-Hujjah al-Muntazar (may God hasten his reappearance).
Karar Shaker, head of the Internal Relations Division, said that “the Public Relations Department, in cooperation with the Pilgrims’ Guesthouse Department, the Vehicles Department, and the Media Department, has commenced implementing the service plan prepared for this blessed occasion, as part of efforts to provide the best possible services to honored pilgrims, especially during million-visitor pilgrimages.”
Shaker explained that “the Guesthouse Department prepared more than 1,000 pieces of cake and 1,000 juice boxes, in addition to more than 500 cartons of sterilized, potable water supplied by the Shrine’s Spring Water Plant, to meet the needs of pilgrims on the first day and along the pilgrimage route.”
He noted that “the servants of the Public Relations Department began distributing hospitality starting from Pole 96 at the procession of the Al-Alawi Holy Shrine up to Khan al-Nuss on the Najaf–Karbala road, in addition to distributing refreshments to the service-based Hussaini processions spread along the route.”
He pointed out that “the work was carried out in coordination with a joint operations room comprising the Al-Alawi Holy Shrine and the Najaf Governorate,” affirming that “the distribution of hospitality will continue throughout the days of the pilgrimage to ensure smooth service delivery and to ease the hardship of travel for pilgrims.”
