Imam Hussain Holy Shrine Hosts American University Students

The Imam Hussain Holy Shrine hosted a delegation of university students from the United States of America, coordinated by the International Media Center of the Media Department, in cooperation with the Imam Foundation affiliated with the representative of the Supreme Religious Authority, His Eminence Sayyid Mohammed Baqir Al-Kashmiri.

The delegation included a number of American university students, who during their visit were introduced to a range of cultural and humanitarian projects adopted by the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine. The visit formed part of a program aimed at familiarizing young people with the role of holy shrines in serving society and promoting humanitarian values.

The Director of the International Media Center at the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, Mr. Haider Al-Mankoushi, said in a statement that “this visit comes within a comprehensive program prepared by the Center to host youth from various countries around the world through winter and summer camps, with the aim of strengthening the spiritual and cultural connection of expatriate youth outside Iraq with the holy shrines and religious sites.”

He added that “the program seeks to build effective bridges of communication with young people and to introduce them to the humanitarian, cultural, and service projects implemented by the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, thereby contributing to conveying the true image of Iraq and its humanitarian and moral mission to international communities.”

Al-Mankoushi noted that “the International Media Center is keen for these visits to serve as a platform for cultural dialogue and knowledge exchange, and for reinforcing the shared values that unite peoples, inspired by the principles of the school of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him).”
