Imam Hussain Shrine’s Social Development Department Serves Samarra Visitors

The Youth Social Development and Rehabilitation Department has announced its participation in serving the pilgrims of the shrine of the two Askari Imams (peace be upon them), coinciding with the commemoration of the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hassan Al-Askari (peace be upon him) in the holy city of Samarra.

The head of the department, Mr. Ali Zaki Al-Tamimi, told the official website that “under the guidance of the representative of the Supreme Religious Authority, Sheikh Abdul Mahdi Al-Karbalaei, and the Secretary-General of the Imam Hussain Shrine, Mr. Hassan Rashid Al-Abayaji, the department took part in serving the pilgrims of the shrine of the two Askari Imams (peace be upon them), in conjunction with the commemoration of the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hassan Al-Askari (peace be upon him) in the holy city of Samarra.”

He explained that “services were provided through the deployment of volunteer teams, with efforts concentrated on the health sector by establishing main evacuation points along the roads leading to the holy shrine. In addition, health centers were supported with volunteers who assisted in organizing the movement of pilgrims and treatments, as well as compiling statistics and offering other supporting services.”

He added that “the department also provided mobile carts to transport the elderly and people with special needs from the main entrances to the inside of the shrine and back, making it easier for them to perform the rituals of the visitation.”

He pointed out that “the services were delivered with the help of volunteers from the Diyala and Wasit coordination units, with efforts continuing for three consecutive days, operating around the clock to provide uninterrupted support.”

Through these integrated efforts, the Youth Social Development and Rehabilitation Department of the Imam Hussain Shrine reaffirmed its commitment to serving pilgrims by providing health and humanitarian care according to the highest standards, reflecting the spirit of cooperation and dedication in serving the masses visiting the shrines of Ahlulbayt (peace be upon them). This highlights the active role of the Imam Hussain Shrine in organizing and supporting large-scale religious commemorations.
