Karbala: Cultural Mawkib Showcases Books Along Pilgrimage Routes

As part of the Arbaeen pilgrimage, the General Cultural Procession of the Al-Abbas Holy Shrine has launched an extensive book fair, featuring more than 1,000 publications along the main routes to the holy city of Karbala.

The Departments of Intellectual Affairs and Islamic and Human Knowledge Affairs of the Holy Shrine are actively engaged in this effort. Cultural stations have been set up along three major pilgrimage routes: Najaf–Karbala, Babylon–Karbala, and Baghdad–Karbala.

Muhammad Al-Araji, an official from the Intellectual Affairs Department, stated, “The General Cultural Procession, established along the three main routes leading to Karbala, presents over 1,000 publications produced by the Al-Abbas Holy Shrine. These works span topics such as thought, culture, religion, and general knowledge. Our objective is to broaden cultural engagement and offer content that reinforces religious identity and fosters moral values.”

He added that this initiative is part of a larger series of cultural programs during the Arbaeen pilgrimage, aimed at enhancing awareness and promoting cultural enrichment among various segments of society.

The participating departments continue to provide religious, educational, and heritage-based services through their stations along the routes, contributing to a spiritually enriching experience for pilgrims making their way to Karbala.
