The Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Department at the Al-Abbas Holy Shrine has announced the addition of more than 360 tons to its main cooling system, as part of ongoing efforts to enhance services for Arbaeen pilgrims.
Assistant Head of the Department, Engineer Ali Musa Imran, stated that the cooling system, operated through advanced electronic control systems of the Building Management System type, now provides a total cooling capacity exceeding 5,000 tons, working at full capacity to ensure comfortable conditions for visitors.
He pointed out that the technical and engineering teams at the Holy Shrine completed these upgrades entirely without any external assistance, including the installation of a new air blower to improve airflow in the Saqi basement of the holy courtyard.
These measures fall within the Holy Shrine’s vision to ensure a healthy environment and provide comprehensive services for the millions of pilgrims arriving from inside Iraq and abroad to commemorate the Arbaeen pilgrimage.
