10 million pilgrims entered Kerbela until 17th of Safar

 

Imam Hussein Shrine has stated that the holy city of Kerbela received approximately 10 million pilgrims from Iraqi cities and countries until the 17th of Safar month 1439 A.H.

 

Jemal Ed-Deen Esh-Shehristani, director of Media Department of Imam Hussein Shrine, said that about 3.5 million pilgrims came from Iran, 7000 pilgrims from Pakistan, 5000 pilgrims from Afghanistan, more than 12000 pilgrims from India, 30,000 pilgrims from Lebanon, in addition to the pilgrims who came from the Gulf countries.

 

He added that it is expected that Kerbela will receive more than 25 million pilgrims this Arba’een pilgrimage, confirming that Imam Hussein Shrine is using all the potentials possible to meet the pilgrims’ needs in order for them to perform their rituals.

 

He also said that 36,000 volunteers joined Imam Hussein Shrine to assist the employees to serve pilgrims.
