Orthodox Archbishop commends Shia Supreme Religious Authority and paramilitaries for Peace, love, unity

During his visit to the Imam Hussein Holy Shrine, the Orthodox Armenian archbishop in Iraq father Kiburk Arshikan said that what is issued by the Shia Muslim Supreme Religious Authority concerning social harmony, unity, love, and peaceful co-existence of the Iraqi people is highly appreciated.

He added that ISIS used the name of Islam as a cover to gain legitimacy and to convince people in order to gain supporters.

He said further that ISIS, with its radical thought, is unrelated to Islam or its humanitarian message.

He confirmed that Iraqi people unmasked ISIS’ tendency, which calls for murdering people, terrorizing them, displacing them, and raping women.

“Iraq is now aware of the countries that have been attempting to cause sectarianism and problems among the Iraqi people,” added further Arshikan.
