Kerbala Study and Research Center of the Imam Hussein Holy Shrine continues to have the Arba'een Pilgrimage to Imam Hussein (Peace Be Upon Him) registered in the UNESCO as the largest annual peaceful cultural landmark of Muslims all over the world.
The center announced that they submitted a request of registration supported by authentic documents and pictures, proving the peacefulness of the pilgrimage, to the UNESCO, and they received a preliminary approval.
The Arba'een is so important an event in the Iraqi Islamic heritage, and the center, therefore, has been trying to have it officially registered as an international peaceful event where Millions of Muslims gather, and have its origin established.
