El-Kerbal'i, warns of denominational criminal acts & calls security forces to take a contengent step

Sep 6, 2013. Second part of the Friday Sermon held in the Imam Hussein holy shrine, the representative of the Islamic Supreme Religious Authority and the preacher of the Friday Sermon in Kerbala city, his eminence Sheikh Abdul Mehdi El-Kerbala'i, mentioned that the Islamic Supreme Religious Authority warned the Iraqi government of continuity of the denominational criminal acts that some cities had witnessed last week without making a step forward to prevent them. It also refused the closed list-system in the next election. He also said that last week witnessed some criminal acts and bombing attacks targeted the innocents, in addition to targeting the Sunnie preacher in Basra Province, and murdering two families in El-Letifeya district and bombing down their house on them where in Deyala and Baghdad still witnessing bombing attacks nowadays. He also mentioned that the government seems not to be taking into consideration these criminal attacks by preventing them or strengthening the security system, while it should concentrate on spreading more security forces to prevent such inhumane acts to happen. He mentioned further that there are two laws should be passed by the parliaments, and one of those two laws is the unified pension law which the Islamic Supreme Religious Authority had already called for cancelling the privileges and pension of the parliaments, in addition to forming new positions in power. He said further that it is not fair to have some officials who receive little pension after they spent most of their lives serving our country while some others who have spent a year or two years now receiving more salary than the retired. His eminence reconfirmed the refusal of the Islamic Supreme Religious Authority to the closed list system in the next election. He clarified that the closed list system is being obstacle for the Iraqi people to vote. He also mentioned that following the closed list system would lead to abstention from voting.About the federal supreme court and exchanging more than 40 members of it with members of the provincial councils he said that, "We do not need to compete with each other in explaining while this law has been legislated lately. After the high electoral committee has approved of distributing the benches and formed the committees from the provincial councils, exchanging members law would confuse the process of some provincial councils. Besides, such postponement would affect the electoral process, citizens' trust, Federal Supreme Court, and the High Electoral Committee where the court should issue its recommendations and instructions before approving of the commission."
