Karbala to Host International Quranic Week with Participation from 30 Countries

The Quran House Department of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine has announced the completion of all preparations for the International Quranic Week, regarded as one of the most prominent international Quranic initiatives hosted by the holy city of Karbala.

Speaking to the official website, the head of the Quranic Media Center, Wissam Nadhir, said that, “Under the patronage of the representative of the Supreme Religious Authority, Sheikh Abdul Mahdi Al-Karbalaei, the Quran House Department, affiliated with the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, has completed all preparations for the activities of the International Quranic Week, which will run for six days from (6–11 June), with the participation of more than (30) Arab and Islamic countries.”

He explained that “the Quranic Week will include a range of distinguished activities and competitions, most notably the (Fifth Karbala International Award for Quran Recitation and Memorization), the First International Buds Competition, as well as the Fourth International Great Prophecy Arabic Calligraphy Exhibition, in addition to a number of specialized scientific, cultural, and artistic events that reflect the depth and diversity of the Quranic experience.”

He added that “the event will witness the participation of an elite group of reciters from across the Islamic world, alongside the presence of Quran memorizers, calligraphers, and international judges, as well as the presentation of scientific and documentary works that reflect the efforts of the Quran House Department in serving the Holy Quran and spreading its sciences and teachings.”

He noted that “this week represents an important milestone in the journey of international Quranic work adopted by the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine and embodies Karbala’s role as a global center of Quranic enlightenment, where people of the Quran from various countries around the world come together.”

The International Quranic Week, organized by the Quran House Department of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, represents one of the most prominent Quranic gatherings in the world hosted by the holy city of Karbala, bringing together distinguished activities and competitions that contribute to strengthening Quranic culture and enhancing its presence at both the Arab and Islamic levels.
