The Engineering and Technical Projects Department of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine continues work on the expansion project of Al-Rashad Teaching Hospital in Baghdad, which includes the construction of (5) specialized buildings aimed at supporting the public healthcare sector and improving the quality of services provided to patients.
Project director engineer Mustafa Ahmed Ghayadh said, “Under the direction of the representative of the Supreme Religious Authority, Sheikh Abdul Mahdi Al-Karbalaei, and the Secretary-General, Hassan Rashid Al-Abayji, the Engineering and Technical Projects Department of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine continues implementing the expansion project of Al-Rashad Teaching Hospital in Baghdad, which includes the construction of (5) specialized buildings aimed at supporting the government healthcare sector and enhancing the efficiency of services provided to patients.”
He explained that “the project includes (4) inpatient wards and an administrative building, with a total capacity of (100) beds,” noting that “work is progressing steadily to complete all buildings according to the specified schedule.”
He added that “the project is being implemented on a total area of (6000) m², with each ward covering (1000) m², while the administrative building occupies an area of (2000) m²,” pointing out that “the engineering designs were prepared by the Baghdad Health Directorate in accordance with internationally approved standards for specialized hospitals.”
He continued that “the rooms include advanced safety systems that take into account the nature of the medical cases, as impact- and shatter-resistant safety glass has been used. The rooms are also free of exposed electrical outlets to ensure patient safety, and are equipped with central air-conditioning systems and early fire warning systems.”
He noted that “the administrative building includes staff offices, meeting halls, and dedicated psychological rehabilitation spaces, in addition to cafeterias, restaurants, and green areas that will be distributed according to the approved final plans.”
It is worth noting that this project comes as part of a series of humanitarian and development initiatives adopted by the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine to support healthcare institutions across various Iraqi provinces and reduce pressure on specialized public hospitals.
