The representative of the Supreme Religious Authority, Sheikh Abdul Mahdi Al-Karbalaei, confirmed that the convoy sent to provide relief to the Iranian people was fully funded by the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, in response to the call of the Supreme Religious Authority.
The representative stated that “these materials, totaling 124 items, include essential medical supplies and heavy equipment that support search and rescue operations related to civil defense tasks, with a total value ranging between 4–5 billion,” noting that “all of these items were fully funded by the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine.”
He explained that “financial and in-kind donations provided by citizens to the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine will be directed according to the priorities and needs of those affected, as part of a second relief convoy.”
It is worth noting that the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine sent, on Saturday, March 28, 2026, its first relief convoy to aid the Iranian people, in response to the directives of the Supreme Religious Authority.
