The Dar Al-Qur’an Department at the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine has announced the launch of its central Ramadan Qur’anic project at the Husayni Courtyard, which includes the organization of (253) Qur’anic completion recitations during the holy month of Ramadan. These include (133) completions for men, (95) for women, and (25) held at Iraqi universities.
Wissam Nadhir Al-Dulafi, Head of the Qur’anic Media Center at the department, said in a statement to the official website that “the Dar Al-Qur’an Department at the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine has launched its central Ramadan Qur’anic project at the Husayni Courtyard, which includes the organization of (253) Qur’anic completions during the holy month of Ramadan, including (133) for men, (95) for women, and (25) at Iraqi universities.”
He explained that “the central completion is held daily in five sessions, during which one full part of the Holy Qur’an is completed, with the participation of more than (60) reciters from the two holy shrines and other holy shrines and sanctuaries, in addition to hosting reciters from neighboring countries, including Iran, Egypt, Lebanon, and Bahrain.”
He added that “the project covers several areas of Karbala, where more than eight completions will be held across visitor cities, the Warith Printing Press, and the Hussaini Camp Department, along with other locations,” noting that “the program also includes (25) completions at Iraqi universities and institutes to strengthen the presence of Qur’anic culture in academic circles.”
He continued that “more than (220) completions will take place in the department’s branches and schools spread across (17) Iraqi provinces, under the direct supervision of Dar Al-Qur’an, alongside the organization of programs, seminars, evenings, and Qur’anic dialogues as part of the activities of the blessed nights of Ramadan.”
He stated that “technical preparations, equipment arrangements, and the installation of the decoration for the central completion were carried out in cooperation with the engineering staff of the Maintenance Department and in coordination with the departments of Order Preservation, Decoration and Landscaping, and Internal and External Shrine Care. In addition, (1400) new Qur’ans and (1400) Qur’an stands have been provided for use throughout the holy month, with the participation of (60) volunteers to organize attendance and serve visitors.”
He noted that “the media plan was implemented in cooperation with the Media Department and the Karbala Channels Group to cover the completion activities and broadcast them live from the Husayni Courtyard inside Iraq and abroad.”
He affirmed that “the integration of organizational, service, and media efforts directly contributes to the success of this major Qur’anic project and reflects an institutional image befitting the status of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, ensuring that Karbala remains a global beacon of the Holy Qur’an.”
This Qur’anic initiative reflects the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine’s strong commitment to promoting Qur’anic culture at both local and international levels through comprehensive programs that combine spiritual depth with institutional organization, reaffirming its active role in serving the Book of God and spreading its teachings.
