The Lady Zainab Specialized Surgical Eye Center announced the volume of medical services it provided from January through November 2025.
Speaking to the official website, Dr. Hussein Mohammed Al-Juaifari, Director of the Technical Department at the center, said that “under the auspices of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine and in cooperation with the Karbala Health Directorate, the Lady Zainab Specialized Eye Center, affiliated with the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, received (38,773) patients up to the end of November 2025.”
He explained that “the center performed more than (13,603) diverse surgical procedures, distributed among special, super-major, major, and minor operations.”
He added that “a total of (54,117) examinations were conducted, including general examinations and retinal screenings within the center’s ophthalmology specialty. In addition, the center provided intraocular injection services for retinal patients, using materials such as (Aflibercept, Avastin, and Lucentis).”
He noted that “the center’s services are not limited to Karbala Governorate but extend to all Iraqi governorates.”
The Lady Zainab Al-Kubra Specialized Surgical Eye Center affirmed that the continued provision of specialized medical services in accordance with the latest scientific and technical standards comes as part of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine’s efforts to enhance healthcare for citizens and to provide a safe and advanced treatment environment for patients from across Iraq.
