Imam Hussain Holy Shrine announces initial approvals for establishing Al-Thaqalayn Technical University in Karbala

The Technical Education Authority of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine has announced that it has obtained all preliminary approvals for the establishment of Al-Thaqalayn Technical University in Karbala Province.

Dr. Hakem Al-Jubouri, Deputy Head of the Authority, told the official website that “the Technical Education Authority of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine has secured all initial approvals from the relevant ministries to establish Al-Thaqalayn Technical University in Karbala.”

He explained that “all architectural plans for the university have been completed, while specialized teams are currently conducting soil testing, after which project implementation will begin.”

Al-Jubouri added that “the total area of the university is 57 dunams, and it will include numerous buildings, green spaces, and service facilities.”

He pointed out that “the university aims to graduate qualified technical professionals capable of keeping up with technological advancements and meeting labor market needs.”

The Imam Hussain Holy Shrine’s steps toward expanding the technical education sector come within a strategic vision aimed at strengthening Karbala’s educational infrastructure and supporting advanced technical disciplines that align with both local and national workforce demands.
