115 Million Dinars Spent, 140 Surgeries Completed in First Week of “Kawthar al-Ismah” Initiative

Imam Zain al-Abidin (peace be upon him) Teaching Hospital, affiliated with the Health and Medical Education Authority of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, has announced the latest statistics for the discounted “Kawthar al-Ismah” medical initiative. The hospital reported spending 115 million Iraqi dinars on healthcare services provided to patients from various provinces across the country during the first week of the program.

Mustafa Al-Mousawi, the hospital’s media officer, told the official website that “Imam Zain al-Abidin (peace be upon him) Teaching Hospital, under the Health and Medical Education Authority of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, spent a total of 115 million Iraqi dinars as of Thursday, December 4, within the framework of the discounted ‘Kawthar al-Ismah’ medical initiative for treating citizens from all governorates.”

He explained that “during this period, 140 surgical operations were performed, in addition to 11,100 laboratory tests. The hospital also received 11,000 patients and conducted 2,100 radiological examinations.”

Al-Mousawi noted that “the initiative will continue providing services until December 11, 2025.”

It is worth mentioning that Imam Zain al-Abidin (peace be upon him) Teaching Hospital is considered one of Iraq’s advanced medical institutions, distinguished for offering specialized surgical services and precise diagnostic care in line with modern medical standards.
