Imam Hussain Holy Shrine’s Media Department Concludes Professional Course on Writing Official News

The News Center of the Media Department at the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine has concluded a specialized training course on the fundamentals of writing official news reports. The workshop was supervised by trainers Faris Al-Shuraifi and Mustafa Ahmed Bahidh, with participation from staff members representing several departments as part of the department’s ongoing professional development programs aimed at advancing media skills.

The head of the Media Department, engineer Abbas Al-Khafaji, stated that “the course is part of a series of training programs designed to enhance staff efficiency and improve the quality of media content in a way that meets the requirements of institutional work and reflects the image of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine across various media platforms.”

He explained that “the course included (12) participants from multiple departments and lasted for two days, with two hours of training each day. It featured practical exercises and in-depth specialized discussions focused on the skills needed to write official news, craft professional headlines, and effectively handle sources, in addition to structuring texts according to approved editorial templates.”

Al-Khafaji added that “the topics also covered training in text editing and presenting content in harmony with the media identity of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, along with applied exercises in which participants submitted news samples that were discussed and evaluated directly.”

He noted that “this course created a space for knowledge exchange among participants and contributed to strengthening their field skills, in line with the Media Department’s vision to raise editorial performance standards and develop media production tools within the institutions of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine.”

It is worth mentioning that these training programs are part of an ongoing plan to build qualified media personnel capable of keeping pace with modern developments in digital and visual journalism, ensuring the production of professional content that reflects the status of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine and its leading role in both local and international media landscapes.
