Pakistan: Imam Hussain Cultural Center Inaugurated to Promote Islamic Unity and Human Connection

The Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, through its International Media Center under the Media Department, and in cooperation with Al-Kawthar Islamic University, inaugurated the Imam Hussain (peace be upon him) Cultural Center in Pakistan. The opening ceremony was held under the patronage and presence of the representative of the Supreme Religious Authority in Pakistan, Sheikh Anwar Al-Najafi, and witnessed wide participation from scholars, intellectuals, academics, and various segments of society from different sects.

The inauguration ceremony featured discussion panels and research papers that highlighted the importance of peaceful coexistence among Islamic sects, inspired by the teachings of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him) in calling for unity and tolerance.

Sheikh Ali Al-Qar’awi, the representative of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, delivered a speech emphasizing that “Imam Hussain (peace be upon him) called for the unity of the Ummah and the rejection of division, turning Karbala into a beacon of humanity and closeness among nations.”

Sheikh Anwar Al-Najafi, the representative of the Supreme Religious Authority in Pakistan, also addressed the gathering, welcoming the delegation of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine and commending its continuous efforts in spreading the culture of love and peace across the world. The ceremony also included the screening of documentary films highlighting the humanitarian and service projects of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine.

In his remarks, the Head of the Media Department at the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, Mr. Abbas Al-Khafaji, expressed his pride in the establishment of this center, affirming that “the center will serve as a bridge for cultural and media communication between the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine and the people of Pakistan.”

Similarly, the Director of the International Media Center, Mr. Haider Al-Mankoushi, stated that “the inauguration of the Imam Hussain (peace be upon him) Cultural Center in Pakistan comes within the vision of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine to expand its cultural and media presence globally.”

He added that “the center will work to convey the message of Karbala to peoples in their own languages and cultures, showcasing the noble and humanitarian image of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him) and the message of Ahlulbayt (peace be upon them).”

The opening ceremony concluded with the screening of a documentary film about the Arbaeen pilgrimage and the services provided to the pilgrims of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him), amid an atmosphere of engagement and large public attendance.
