90% Completion Reached on Higher Institute of Health Project in Baghdad

The Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, through its Engineering Projects Department, has revealed the progress of the Higher Institute of Health project in Baghdad, which is being constructed on an area of 2,700 square meters. The project is scheduled to be handed over to the Directorate of Health in November, in preparation for receiving students in the upcoming academic year.

The project supervisor, Engineer Hussein Basim Al-Najjar, stated that “the completion rate of the Higher Institute of Health project has reached approximately 90%, and it is expected to be handed over to the Directorate of Health in November to be ready for students at the start of the new academic term.”

He added that “the project has been built according to the highest technical and architectural standards. The ground floor includes eight classrooms, each with an area of 100 square meters and a total capacity of 400 students. It also contains four administrative offices for professors and a dedicated room for examination committees.”

Al-Najjar continued, “In addition, the facility features fully equipped health laboratories with modern tools and devices covering various specialties. The second floor has been designated for senior administrative offices, including those of the dean and accountants, along with other administrative and service facilities.”

He further explained that “the project incorporates a range of modern smart systems, including a fire alarm system, a hose reel fire extinguishing system, a surveillance camera network, and a central air-conditioning system operating on the advanced VRF technology. Moreover, small indoor and outdoor gardens have been added to create a comfortable and suitable educational environment, in line with modern trends in academic building design.”

He confirmed that “the project has obtained the approval of the Civil Defense Directorate after fulfilling all safety requirements, which enhances its readiness from technical, safety, and health perspectives.”

Al-Najjar concluded that “this project is part of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine’s strategy to support Iraq’s health and education sectors by establishing advanced educational institutions that contribute to graduating qualified health professionals capable of meeting current and future needs.”
