Imam Hussain Holy Shrine Harvests Iraqi Date Varieties in Green Belt Project

Engineer Ali Nasser, Director of the project, confirmed that “the Authority has begun harvesting dates from various Iraqi varieties within the Northern Green Belt Project, where these types serve as a primary ingredient for numerous local and international food industries.”

He added, “This year, we have achieved abundant yields of dates thanks to the comprehensive agricultural services provided to the palm trees.”

Nasser further explained that “we have now reached a stage of fully developed vegetation cover within the Northern Green Belt, consisting of palm trees, olive trees, and other species. This progress is the result of continuous supervision and support from the senior administration of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, represented by the Custodian of the Shrine and the Secretary-General, along with direct on-site follow-up by the Head of the Agricultural Authority.”
