As part of the services offered to Arbaeen pilgrims, more than 650 male and female instructors from the staff of the Holy Quran House Department, along with volunteers, took part in a project to correct the recitation of Surat Al-Fatiha and short surahs for Arbaeen visitors. The initiative was carried out through more than 160 stations stretching from Basra Governorate to the capital, Baghdad, passing through central stations and locations near the shrines of Imam Hussain and Abu Al-Fadl Al-Abbas (peace be upon them).
Wissam Nathir Al-Dalfi, Head of the Quranic Media Center in the Holy Quran House Department, stated: “The project included seven central stations in Basra, Najaf Al-Ashraf, Babil, the Imam Hussain Visitors’ City, the Imam Hassan Visitors’ City, the Holy Quran House building on the Baghdad–Karbala road, and a station in Dhi Qar, in addition to 15 stations within the vicinity of the two holy shrines. These included Bab Al-Sidra, Bab Al-Salam, the Hussaini Camp, Eastern Abbasiya, the shrine of Imam Al-Mahdi (may Allah hasten his reappearance), Al-Qazwiniya, Al-Saadiya, Al-Dhareeba Bridge, and the Directorate of Education.”
He added: “The Calligraphy and Pen Center, affiliated with the Holy Quran House Department, also participated by displaying artistic panels and intarsia wood work sculptures, as well as hosting live workshops to introduce the different types of traditional Arabic scripts in Basra and Karbala governorates.” He pointed out that “the stations provide their services around the clock, distributing blessed gifts to pilgrims as they pass.”
It is noteworthy that these stations will continue operating until the conclusion of the Arbaeen pilgrimage ceremonies, as part of the Hawza Religious Seminary’s preaching project, which aims to promote Quranic culture and enhance religious awareness during the million-strong pilgrimage commemorating the Arbaeen of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him).
