The al-Qalam Center for Arabic Calligraphy, affiliated with Dar Al-Quran in the Holy Shrine, concluded its exhibition of the winning manuscripts in the first international Arabic calligraphy competition, with the participation of calligraphers from Arab and Islamic countries.
Karrar Al-Shammari, the centre media official, said in an interview, "The Center has concluded the exhibition, which was held in the Bayna al-Haramain area with the participation of many calligraphers, had many activities like holding calligraphy workshops, distributing teaching books for learning calligraphy, in addition to remembering forum for passed away calligraphers."
Al-Shammari added, "The exhibition included (113) calligraphy artworks from the following countries, Jordan, Egypt, Bahrain, the Sultanate of Oman, Algeria, Iran, Indonesia, Malaysia and Pakistan, in addition to Iraq."
It is stated that the Shrine's Chief Clerk, Sheikh Abdul Mahdi al-Karbalai hosted in his Office the supervising committee of the Wareth al-Anbiyaa competition and expressed his admiration for the organization and the participation plans made.
