The Department of Strategic Projects at the Holy Shrine announced the completion rates in the cancer hospital project in Basra Governorate.
Eng Zaid Abdul-Hamid, the project manager, said in an interview, "The engineering and technical cadres at the Holy Shrine, under the guidance of the representative of the supreme religious authority, Sheikh Abdul Mahdi al-Karbalai, have achieved advanced completion rates in the Cancer hospital project, in the city of Basra, indicating that the work process is going under the plan and timing."
Abdul-Hamid added, "The total area of the project is (20,000m2), while the constructed area is (11,700m2), noting that the completion has reached over (92%)."
He continued, "The first building includes (11) medical devices, advanced specialized tests, (3) modern qualitative halls, and the emergency department, in addition to (30) beds and (10) intensive care beds. The 2nd building has four floors, with (46) beds, while the 3rd building is dedicated to (electromechanical) services, and the 4th is for radioactive iodine treatment."
