Mosul's university students carry letters to Kerbela's people

Within another initiative of unifying Iraqi people, the Imam Hussein Holy Shrine has set a campaign to bring together the Iraqi people. More than 100 university students from the City of Mosul have recently visited the Holy City of Kerbela, carrying letters from the people of Mosul to the people of Kerbela, thanking them for fighting ISIS, and for accommodating their people in Kerbela.

The deputy Secretary-General of the Imam Hussein Holy Shrine sayyid Efdhel Esh-Shami met with the students and said that Imam Hussein Holy Shrine always welcomes its guests from any city, especially Mosul, Anbar, and Rumadi.

He added that Kerbela, which receives more than 21 million pilgrims in a pilgrimage, is willing to receive thousands at any time.

Muhenned El-Yosuf, campaign coordinator, said, “The people of the southern part of Iraq have sacrificed so much for the people of Mosul, they laid down their lives in defending their country and people.”

He added further that Mosul is now considered liberated, and is willing to receive and accommodate Shia and Sunni Muslims, Christians, Yazidi people, and others who are subscribed to different religions and religious denominations.

Amani El-Moselli, activist, expressed her gratitude to the management of the Imam Hussein Holy Shrine and to the people of Kerbela for inviting people from Mosul to visit Kerbela, and for showing them generosity and hospitality. She – in return for the favor – invited the people of Kerbela to visit Mosul.
