Over 8 months: Safeer Al-Imam Hussain Surgical Hospital of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine performs nearly 14,000 surgical procedures

Safeer Al-Imam Hussain (peace be upon him) Surgical Hospital, affiliated with the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, announced the performance of nearly 14,000 various surgical procedures during the first eight months of the current year (2026), as part of its ongoing efforts to provide medical and therapeutic services to citizens from various governorates.

The Administrative Director of the hospital, Engineer Abbas Abd Ali, said in an interview with the (Official Website) that "the medical, surgical, nursing, and supporting engineering staff were able to perform nearly 14,000 surgical procedures during the first eight months of the current year," noting that "this achievement came as a result of an integrated work plan and raising the level of readiness to handle the increasing numbers of patients and visitors."

He added that "the surgical procedures performed included multiple medical specialties and comprised major, super-major, and special, complex cases, which were conducted according to the latest medical methods and technologies."

He explained that "the hospital works to provide an integrated medical environment that contributes to offering the necessary care to patients by equipping its departments with specialized staff and modern medical equipment and devices."

He stressed that "this development in the level of medical services comes with the support and sponsorship of the representative of the Supreme Religious Authority, Sheikh Abdul-Mahdi Al-Karbalai, and in line with the directives of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine to develop health institutions and elevate the level of services provided to citizens."

Health institutions affiliated with the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine continue to implement their programs and plans aimed at enhancing medical and therapeutic services and expanding their capacity and specialization, contributing to meeting the needs of citizens from various governorates.
