El-Kerbala’e: Iraq’s crisis to be turned to international and national experts, and austerity to eliminate unnecessary expenses

Jan 29, 2016. Second part of the Friday's Sermon held at the Imam Hussein Holy Shrine, the representative of the Islamic Supreme Religious Authority and the preacher of the Friday's Sermon in the holy city of Kerbala, His Eminence sheikh Abdul-Mehdi El-Kerbala'e called the Iraqi government to turn to international and national experts for help in order to lay a plan of emergency through which Iraq can recover from its current crisis. His Eminence also called the government to take austerity procedures in terms of eliminating the unnecessary expenses incurred in the ministries and other governmental directorates such as abroad delegation, provided to not transgress the rights of the Iraqi people and the popular mobilization forces. He mentioned the necessity of taking crucial decisions and active procedures to crack down the monetary and administrative corruption, and to end sharing the governmental positions. His Eminence added that the monetary crisis in Iraq has reached a dangerous level, especially in the fields of medical requirements and the employees’ and retired people’s salaries. He added further that the stage of reformation has not been fulfilled and it is full of crises due to the paucity of a sincere national management and decision makers who are preoccupied with their personal benefits.   Translated by: Mohammed Jasim Alobaidi
