Friday’s sermon preacher congratulates Iraqi army, and demands fulfilling reformations, environment conservation

Jan 8, 2016. Second part of the Friday's Sermon held at the Imam Hussein Holy Shrine, the representative of the Islamic Supreme Religious Authority and the preacher of the Friday's Sermon in the holy city of Kerbala, His Eminence sayyid Ahmed Es-Safi congratulated the Iraqi army on the 95th anniversary of its foundation.   His Eminence prayed for the martyrs and for the wounded, demanding the Iraqi government and the concerned authorities to necessarily support and build up the Iraqi army based on patriotic fundamentals to ensure that it is strong enough.    He also mentioned that the Islamic Supreme Religious Authority had already called the government to execute the reformations in the country, in the previous year; deploring delaying the demands raised by the Iraqi people. He added that he would mention this issue in a later time.   Concerning environment conservation, his Eminence demanded that the environment must be well taken care of by the concerned entities and local nationals because the environment can affect people’s health and economy.   His Eminence also added that Iraq has two great rivers, - Tigris and Euphrates – that must be used properly in order to enrich Iraq, without the need to other resources. Accordingly, he called the government to take the required procedures to conserve the pieces of land of the two rivers that are being taken over by people; especially where garbage and waste are discarded.   Translated by: Mohammed Jasim
