A top official delegation from Afghanistan visited the Imam Hussein Holy Shrine on Apr 12, 2014. The delegation consisted of the Minister of Higher Education Mr. Ubaid-Allah Ubaid, and some other officials from the Afghani Government. Ubaid, said, "We have come to offer pilgrimage to Imam Hussein (Peace Be Upon him), such a unique who sacrificed himself for the sake of Islam, therefore all the grieved peoples should take a great lesson from Imam Hussein (Peace Be Upon Him) and stand against tyrants." He toured the Imam Hussein Holy shrine and realized the effect of the criminal acts and arsons committed against the holy shrine.
