El-Kerbala'i: Candidate Priorly Guarantees Nullifying the Parliament's Prerogative Might be Voted for

Feb 7, 2014. Second part of the Friday Sermon held in the Imam Hussein holy shrine, the representative of the Islamic Supreme Religious Authority and the preacher of the Friday Sermon in Kerbala city, his eminence Sheikh Abdul Mehdi El-Kerbala'i urged Iraqi people to vote for the candidate who would priorly guarantee nullifying the parliament's prerogative before the coming elections. He called for profoundly reconsidering the law of pension which had already been unanimously passed but which has now, unfortunately, failed again. Concerning the electronic voting card, his eminence mentioned that 400 000 electronic voting cards had been distributed to people. However, this was not enough as there are many people who have not received their voting card. Therefore, an urgent solution should be adopted in terms of distributing the voting card to all people, he said. His eminence shed light upon the importance of taking care of the holders of high degrees whom are currently lecturers at the universities to be paid sufficiently instead of being paid approximately 5$ for per lecture. He added that such an issue might seriously be taken into profound consideration in order to maintain the significance of the educational system in the country. Translated by: Mohammed Jasim
