The Secretary-General of the Imam Hussein holy shrine Sheikh Abdul Mehdi El-Kerbala'i, opened Kerbala Studies and Research Center which is the first edifice in Kerbala which belongs to the Imam Hussein holy shrine. Mr. Abdul Ameer El-Quraishi, the head of the center stated that in order to keep pace with the rest of the world in which they depend on the studies and research center in order to discover and enhance many issues in life, the Imam Hussein holy shrine founded the center in order to be the main fountain of knowledge in Kerbala holy city.He also mentioned that there was a great cooperation offered by Ahlulbait and Kerbala universities by associating the centers with some specialists in order to offer as best as possible. He said further that the center has started its role by writing an encyclopedia of the history of Kerbala holy city in many aspects such as Economy, History, Geography, Heritage, Theater, politics, society, and teaching. He clarified that the center prioritizes the religious culture and attempts to attract those are divinely gifted, and qualified people in all fields of sciences.
