The technical and engineering staff in the Maintenance Department at the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine have completed the rehabilitation and development work for the entrance of Bab al-Qibla of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him). The project aims to elevate the aesthetic appearance of the site and enhance its service efficiency, contributing to smoother movement for pilgrims.
The head of the department, Engineer Abdul Hassan Mohammad, stated in an interview with the Official Website that "the technical and engineering staff in the Maintenance Department affiliated with the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine completed the rehabilitation and development work on the entrance of Bab al-Qibla of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him), with the goal of upgrading the site's aesthetic appeal and boosting its service efficiency to facilitate smooth pilgrim flow."
He explained that "the works included paving and installing interlocking tiles over a total area of (300) m², alongside executing steps and terraces using high-quality marble covering an area exceeding (50) m², while selecting harmonious colors that align with the architectural identity of the Holy Courtyard."
He added that "the scope of work also encompassed maintaining, rehabilitating, and painting the iron wall and the entrance doors, in addition to constructing and upgrading dedicated rainwater drainage channels to protect the pathways and surrounding areas, ensuring the site's readiness during the rainy season."
He further noted that "the engineering teams took service aspects and ease of mobility into account by implementing steps and pathways designed to facilitate the movement of visitors, particularly the elderly and people with disabilities, thereby improving traffic flow at the entrance."
It is worth noting that the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine continues to carry out maintenance, rehabilitation, and development projects across the entrances and vital areas surrounding the Holy Shrine as part of its ongoing efforts to enhance the service environment and elevate the level of services provided to pilgrims.
