The Baghdad Family Counseling Center, affiliated with the Department of Family Guidance and Counseling at the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, announced the organization of an awareness workshop titled "Limiting Electronic Extortion," targeting the staff of the General Company for Post and Savings – Planning and Follow-up Department, held at the company's headquarters.
The center stated in a release obtained by the official website that "the workshop addressed the concept of electronic extortion and its most prominent causes, along with its psychological and social impacts, in addition to discussing protection and prevention mechanisms and ways to deal with extortion cases to limit their repercussions."
It explained that "the workshop emphasized the importance of awareness regarding the safe use of digital tools and platforms, and avoiding compliance with extortionists' demands or dealing with them in a manner that might escalate the consequences of the situation."
It pointed out that "holding such workshops contributes to raising the level of awareness among employees and community members regarding digital risks, and educating them on the correct steps that should be followed when exposed to extortion attempts, helping to limit the spread of this phenomenon and its effects."
This workshop comes within the guidance and awareness programs implemented by the Baghdad Family Counseling Center, aimed at enhancing community awareness and addressing issues that affect the family and the individual, as well as expanding cooperation with governmental and community institutions to provide educational and guidance programs.
