Sayyida Zainab Al-Kubra Specialized Ophthalmic Surgical Center announced the statistics of medical and therapeutic services provided to patients from the beginning of the current year until the end of September 2026, in cooperation with Karbala Health Department.
Director of the center, Dr. Uday Abdul-Hassan Al-Salami, stated in an interview with the official website that "Sayyida Zainab Al-Kubra Specialized Ophthalmic Surgical Center announced the statistics of medical and therapeutic services provided to patients from the beginning of the current year until the end of September (2026), in cooperation with Karbala Health Department."
He explained that "the center continues to provide its specialized medical and therapeutic services to patients," noting that "the statistics included performing (16,067) surgical operations, providing (37,579) medical consultations, as well as conducting (53,599) optical examinations and (46,637) laboratory tests."
He added that "these services are provided through specialized medical and nursing cadres," pointing out that "the management of the center continues its efforts in providing specialized medical care to patients, contributing to improving eye health and enhancing both functional and cosmetic aspects, as well as receiving patients from various Iraqi governorates, alongside visitors from a number of Arab and foreign countries."
These statistics come as part of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine's efforts to provide specialized and integrated healthcare through its medical institutions, and to strengthen its services in the field of ophthalmology and eye surgery, contributing to providing advanced medical care to visitors from inside and outside Iraq.
