The Secretary-General of Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, Mr. Hassan Rashid Jawad Al-Abaychi, emphasized that preparing a generation capable of assuming responsibility requires focusing on scientific and cognitive development alongside educational, moral, and spiritual growth. He noted that reaching the age of religious obligation (Takleef) represents an important milestone in a young girl's life and the beginning of her religious and spiritual responsibilities. He shared these remarks during a speech delivered at a ceremony marking the religious age of maturity for a group of female students from the Warith Educational Group.
The Secretary-General stated that "there are two main pillars in preparing the next generation: the first is raising a generation armed with knowledge and learning, while the other pillar is the educational, moral, and spiritual dimension."
He added that "one of the essential elements in the spiritual aspect is reaching the age of religious maturity. When a girl reaches nine lunar years of age, she becomes eligible to fulfill her religious duties and adhere to Islamic rulings, including performing prayers, reciting the Holy Quran, and enjoining good and forbidding wrong."
He explained that "the religious age of maturity represents the start of spiritual responsibility for our dear daughters. Therefore, the General Secretariat of Imam Hussain Holy Shrine accords great importance to the spiritual aspect in preparing this generation."
Al-Abaychi pointed out that "this responsibility falls primarily on the family, followed by the school, society, and educational institutions. Our daughters are a trust in our care, and it is our duty to protect and nurture this trust so that we may guide this generation to its rightful position in alignment with the message of Islam, the message of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him and his family), and the message of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him)."
He noted that "caring for this generation will empower it to take on the responsibility of leading the family, the institution, and the nation in accordance with the principles of Islam. When these goals are achieved, we will stand before an integrated, stable, and secure society that advances scientifically and remains free from injustice."
He concluded by saying, "I entrust you to treat these female students and daughters with care, and I urge you to prioritize education, especially the spiritual upbringing that we learned from the Household of the Prophet (peace be upon them)."
