The head of the department, Engineer Hussain Reza Mahdi, stated in an interview with the Official Website that "the Expansion Projects Department at the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine announced the extent of services provided during the Arbaeen Pilgrimage of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him), as part of a comprehensive service and organizational plan aimed at ensuring optimal conditions for receiving millions of pilgrims by expanding designated spaces and preparing fully integrated service facilities within the Shrine's courtyard and the Courtyard of Lady Zainab (peace be upon her)."

He explained that "the department opened four basements inside the Shrine's main courtyard covering an area of (4,000) square meters, reopened the holy Al-Talla Al-Zainabiya Shrine for female pilgrims, and opened areas within the Courtyard of Lady Zainab (peace be upon her) with a capacity of approximately (10,000) pilgrims."

He further noted that "the plan included providing a wide array of specialized services inside the Courtyard of Lady Zainab (peace be upon her), including a lost-and-found center, a mobile phone repair center, a kindergarten for children, a field hospital, a Red Crescent medical center, two dental care centers, as well as a major baggage storage center equipped with (1,500) lockers, along with carts designated for children and the elderly."

He pointed out that "the department allocated sites for (41) service processions to feed the pilgrims, as well as providing stopping areas for processions inside the Courtyard of Lady Zainab (peace be upon her), while continuing to support them with ice distributions."

He confirmed that "the Expansion Projects Department continues, under its specific plan for the Arba'een Pilgrimage, to distribute (25,000) blocks of ice daily to the Hussaini processions from Safar 13 to Safar 20, aimed at supporting service processions and maintaining the safety of food and beverages served to pilgrims, in line with the massive influx of millions witnessed by the holy city of Karbala during the pilgrimage."
