The Karbala Center for Studies and Research, affiliated with the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, has announced the completion of all preparations for convening the 10th International Scientific Conference on the Arbaeen Pilgrimage. The event is organized in cooperation with the Scientific Academic Council for the Arbaeen Pilgrimage, in partnership with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the Ministry of Planning / Central Statistical Organization, and Al-Karkh University of Science. Scheduled to take place from August 7–8, the conference will feature a select group of researchers, academics, and experts from both inside and outside Iraq.
Speaking to the Official Website, Salah Hassan, Administrative Assistant at the Center, stated: "The Karbala Center for Studies and Research, affiliated with the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, has completed all preparations for holding the 10th International Scientific Conference on the Arbaeen Pilgrimage. Organized in cooperation with the Scientific Academic Council for the Arbaeen Pilgrimage, and in partnership with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the Ministry of Planning / Central Statistical Organization, and Al-Karkh University of Science, the conference will take place from August 7–8, with the participation of an elite group of researchers, academics, and experts from within Iraq and abroad."
He explained that the conference serves as a specialized scientific platform for exchanging expertise and research perspectives on the Arbaeen Pilgrimage. It aims to enhance academic studies and provide scientific insights that contribute to improving services and elevating the management of this million-strong occasion in accordance with the latest scientific methodologies.
Hassan added that the gathering seeks to stimulate scientific research movement by bringing together scholars and experts across various disciplines to present innovative ideas and initiatives addressing the spiritual, intellectual, and social dimensions of the Arbaeen Pilgrimage. This is alongside discussions on sustainability, crowd management for millions, artificial intelligence, smart media, as well as analyzing the economic, social, and environmental impacts of the event.
He further noted that the conference focuses on consolidating the values of peaceful coexistence, promoting intercultural communication between peoples, and highlighting the universal human message conveyed by the Arbaeen Pilgrimage, thereby contributing to the promotion of a culture of dialogue and the rejection of violence and extremism.
Moreover, he pointed out that the conference proceedings will cover eight main thematic tracks: spiritual and intellectual dimensions, the sociology of Arbaeen, sustainability and resource management, future infrastructure, digital transformation, crowd management via artificial intelligence, smart media and international communications, and the economics of the Arba'een Pilgrimage.
The 10th International Scientific Conference on the Arbaeen Pilgrimage stands as one of the most prominent academic events organized by the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine. Annually, it brings together scientific and research institutions alongside governmental and academic entities from inside and outside Iraq to offer scientific studies and solutions that enhance the management of the pilgrimage and strengthen its cultural and humanitarian dimensions.
