The Health and Medical Education Authority at the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine has announced a significant medical achievement, revealing that it has successfully provided treatment to (22%) of Iraq’s total pediatric cancer patients through its three affiliated healthcare institutions: the Warith International Center for Oncology, Al-Mujtaba Hospital for Hematology and Bone Marrow Transplantation, and Al-Thaqalain Oncology Hospital.
The Head of the Health and Medical Education Authority, Dr. Haider Hamza Al-Abadi, told the official website, "The healthcare institutions affiliated with the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine have reached a highly advanced stage in the treatment of pediatric cancers and have achieved remarkable success rates, successfully treating approximately (22%) of Iraq’s total children diagnosed with cancer."
He added that "the treatment journey within the healthcare institutions of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine begins from the moment the patient is registered, followed by diagnostic and laboratory examinations, sample collection, and the provision of medicines and treatments sourced from internationally recognized manufacturers with high standards of quality and efficiency, helping to achieve the best possible treatment outcomes."
He explained that "the three healthcare institutions continue to provide free treatment services for children in accordance with the latest international medical protocols, under the supervision of specialized medical and nursing staff, while continuously developing healthcare services and introducing the latest medical equipment and technologies."
The achievement reflects the vision of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine and the directives of the representative of the Supreme Religious Authority, Sheikh Abdul Mahdi Al-Karbalaei, to provide free, high-quality specialized medical care for children with cancer from across Iraq.
