The Al-Sadiq Al-Ameen Intellectual and Cultural Division of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine participated in the annual Ashura procession held in Tal Afar District, Nineveh Governorate, to commemorate the tenth of Muharram.
Speaking to the official website, the head of the division, Sheikh Khalil Al-Ulayawi, said that "the division participated alongside a number of mourning processions arriving from villages and areas surrounding Tal Afar District in Nineveh Governorate, where the processions were received at the Shrine of Saad bin Aqeel (peace be upon him)." He noted that "the procession witnessed broad participation from the residents of the district, who gathered to commemorate the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him)."
He explained that "the participation of the mourning processions reflects the depth of faith and loyalty to Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) despite all challenges. We also commend the efforts of the procession organizers and mourners in preserving this great religious observance, which the enemies of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) sought to erase."
He added that "Iraq's northern governorates witnessed strong participation in this year's mourning commemorations, particularly Nineveh Governorate and specifically Tal Afar District, where participants from various communities expressed their commitment to the principles of the Husayni revolution."
He pointed out that "the Ashura processions represent a message calling for reform, justice, unity, and support for the oppressed, particularly in areas with diverse communities."
He stressed that "the responsibility of preserving the memory of the Husayni movement rests with everyone by instilling its objectives in people's hearts and strengthening its principles within society, and that following the path of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) is the way to promote a culture of tolerance, compassion, and mercy among peoples."
