The Strategic Projects Department at the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine continues work on the maternity hospital project in Al-Suwaira district in Wasit province, as part of its efforts to strengthen the healthcare sector and expand specialized medical services provided to citizens.
In a statement obtained by the official website, the department said that “the Strategic Projects Department at the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine continues implementation work on the maternity hospital project in Al-Suwaira district in Wasit province as part of its efforts aimed at supporting the healthcare sector and expanding specialized medical services provided to citizens.”
The statement explained that “the project is being implemented according to the latest engineering and medical specifications, with the aim of providing an integrated treatment environment for maternity services and mother-and-child care through equipping the hospital with specialized departments and integrated service and administrative units.”
It added that “the project was built on a total area of (4000) square meters and consists of a main building with a construction area of (3500) square meters distributed across (4) floors, in addition to a service building with an area of (500) square meters distributed over two floors.”
The statement continued that “the ground floor of the main building includes emergency wards for men and women, a pharmacy, radiology and ultrasound units, a minor operations hall, doctors’ rooms, sanitary facilities, in addition to an electricity control room, equipment storage rooms, and a control unit.”
It pointed out that “the first floor includes (9) inpatient wards, laboratories, a blood bank, changing rooms, a rest area for medical staff, in addition to an archiving, administration, and accounting unit, a waiting hall, and communications and electricity units.”
The statement further explained that “the second floor contains (16) inpatient wards, a waiting hall, a rest area for medical staff, doctors’ rooms, and communications and electricity units,” noting that “the third floor includes (3) cesarean operation halls, (3) natural childbirth halls, an intensive care and recovery hall, a neonatal unit, a sterilization unit, changing rooms for medical staff, storage rooms for medical tools, in addition to communications and electricity units and a rest area for nursing staff.”
It added that “the ground floor of the service building includes electrical transformer rooms, a food preparation room, food storage rooms, and a medical waste treatment unit, while the first floor includes the medical gas system, reception, and a cleaning unit.”
The statement stressed that “the project represents a significant addition to the healthcare sector in Al-Suwaira district by providing integrated specialized services for mothers and children, contributing to enhancing the level of healthcare services provided to citizens.”
It is worth noting that the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, through implementing the directives of the representative of the Supreme Religious Authority and its legal custodian Sheikh Abdul Mahdi Al-Karbala’i, continues to carry out a number of healthcare and service projects in various provinces as part of its vision aimed at developing medical infrastructure and providing advanced services that contribute to meeting the needs of citizens.
