The Agricultural Authority of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine has announced the continuation of work on the Imam Ali Oasis project, in preparation for its opening to families and visitors next month, as a fully integrated recreational destination.
The head of the authority, Razzaq Al-Taie, said in a statement to the official website, “The Agricultural Authority of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine continues to complete all work related to the opening of the Imam Ali Oasis, to serve as a comprehensive recreational space that welcomes families and visitors and provides a comfortable environment suited to its guests,” noting that “the opening is scheduled for next month.”
He explained that “the project is being implemented under the direction of the representative of the Supreme Religious Authority, Sheikh Abdul Mahdi Al-Karbalaei, and the Secretary-General of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, Hassan Rashid Al-Abayji, as part of plans to enhance environmental and service conditions in Karbala province.”
He added that “the oasis is located within the Northern Green Belt project, in the northwestern part of Karbala province, approximately (10) kilometers from the city center.”
He continued that “the project is designed as a fully integrated recreational outlet, featuring wide green spaces, a variety of trees, designated seating areas for families, and dedicated playgrounds for children,” noting that “the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine aims to further develop the project in the future and transform it into a series of similar oases if it sees strong public demand.”
This project is part of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine’s vision to expand green spaces in Karbala, improve environmental and service conditions, and provide a new religious and recreational destination that helps ease congestion in the city center while offering families a unique and safe leisure experience in a natural setting.
