The Department for the Care of Martyrs’ and Wounded Families at the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine has announced that it provided medical services to a total of (250) health cases from the families of martyrs and the wounded during the months of January and February 2026, as part of the shrine’s commitment to delivering comprehensive healthcare for this important segment of society.
Emad Al-Jashami, Head of the Media Unit in the department, said in a statement to the official website that “the Department for the Care of Martyrs’ and Wounded Families at the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine provided medical services to a total of (250) health cases from the families of martyrs and the wounded during the months of January and February 2026.”
He explained that “these cases included specialized surgical procedures, advanced laboratory examinations, and treatment programs for chronic diseases. These services were provided through the hospitals and specialized centers of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, contributing to easing suffering and ensuring the delivery of healthcare in accordance with the highest quality standards.”
He noted that “this effort comes in implementation of the directives of the representative of the Supreme Religious Authority, Sheikh Abdul Mahdi Al-Karbalaei, and the Secretary-General of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, Professor Hassan Rashid Jawad Al-Abayiji,” stressing that “caring for the families of martyrs and the wounded is not a favor, but a sacred duty based on the values of loyalty and human dignity.”
He added that “the department’s staff continue to provide their services on a daily basis to ensure the continuity of healthcare for this group, in coordination with relevant institutions, in a way that enhances the health and living stability of members of the community.”
Through the Department for the Care of Martyrs’ and Wounded Families, the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine affirms its continued commitment to providing medical and humanitarian support to this group, remaining a safe refuge and a compassionate hand that heals the wounds of heroes and honors their sacrifices.
