The hospital has also joined several specialized international organizations, strengthening its medical standing at both the regional and international levels, in addition to being selected as an accredited training center for obtaining the Arab Board certification in this specialized field.”

He added that “the hospital currently has a capacity of (33) bone marrow transplant units, one of the highest capacities in the Arab region, matched only by Nasser Center in the Arab Republic of Egypt.” He noted that “despite this advanced level, the actual demand for bone marrow transplantation patients in Iraq still requires further expansion to meet the growing need.”

He further stated that “during the meeting, the Representative of the Supreme Religious Authority directed the preparation of a study to establish a new specialized medical center for bone marrow transplantation in Karbala Governorate with a larger capacity, contributing to the provision of the best possible medical services for children and adult patients in need of this type of treatment.”
