The Dar al-Qur’an Department at the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine took part in the ninth edition of the Port Said International Competition for Qur’an Memorization, Recitation, and Religious Chanting, which was held in the Arab Republic of Egypt with broad participation from countries around the world.

Professor Wissam Nadhir, head of the International Qur’anic Media Center, told the official website that “the Dar al-Qur’an Department at the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine participated in the ninth edition of the Port Said International Competition for Qur’an memorization, recitation, and religious chanting, which lasted for three days in the Arab Republic of Egypt and saw the participation of more than (32) Arab and foreign countries.”

He added that “this participation came within the vision of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine to support Qur’an reciters and memorizers and enable them to represent Iraq in international Qur’anic forums. The representative of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, Iraq, and the Dar al-Qur’an Department, the reciter Falah Al-Zalif Atiya, achieved third place in the category of beautiful voices.”

He explained that “this international achievement reflects the advanced level of specialized Qur’anic preparation and training sponsored by the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine and supervised by the Dar al-Qur’an Department. These results represent a clear message of the department’s role in nurturing Qur’anic talents, strengthening the presence of the Iraqi Qur’anic school on the international stage, serving the Holy Qur’an, and conveying its message to the world.”
